In the 80's, racism was still a negative impact but there was no segregation. In 1983, President Ronald Reagan to create a national holiday to honour Martin Luther King. It was first celebrated on January 20, 1986. Women in the 80's continued to fight for their rights and many found jobs instead of being stay at home mothers.
